Ok, the 8 things (or rather persons), which I'm very very grateful for are:
1. My parents for their sacrifices in giving me a happy childhood and good upbringing.
2. My sisters for sharing the happy and unhappy moments together and the most important thing is - sharing your clothes..haha!
3. My bunch of good old friends - from schools and university. Life is empty without you guys.
4. My boss. Weird huh. Most people will hate their bosses but this boss of mine is very special. I've made up my mind to resign if he discontinues his contract. Silly, I know. Thank goodness, he is here to stay for another 2 years?
5. My special friend, who is also my ex-colleague. My only Malay friend. More like a big sister to me. Thanks for all the advices, laughters and tears you shared with me.
6. My godmum. She showed me what it's like being pampered.

Last but not least, the two loves of my life:

7. My husband. I can't believe that I never set my eyes on other men since I met you...cheh
8. My pride and joy - Ethan. With him around, life is full of tastes:

I never thought that my humble little blog (I mean it) will ever, ever... inspire someone to start a blog. I'm contended with a comment or two from my readers. I started the blog to jot down those little yet important memories in raising Ethan as well as my journey in motherhood. Somewhere down the road, I started doing paid post. I want to THANK all my readers who drop by this blog and leave your comments, even thought it's tainted with paid posts :-). No matter how simple or short it is, I treasure it.

Tag: 08.08.08 (It's Also My 88th Post!)

Thanks to Malaika's mummy for this tag. What would I be doing on that day? Definitely not planning for a baby :-) I never plan so far ahead especially when it involves Ethan. I think I would be attending someone's wedding. If there are so many people getting married on 07.07.07, there are definitely more people getting married next year on 08.08.08. I think all the restaurants and hotels will be fully booked by now, especially from the Chinese. It's a super duperly auspicious date.

Tag: 8 Random Facts About Me

This is a long overdue post. The tag came from Mommibee and Judy. Sorry girls. Ethan has been sick on and off and I wasn't in the mood to do it. He's ok now. So, here they are:

1. I don't eat celery. It's the only vegetable that I do not eat.
2. I need a minimum of 8 hours of beauty sleep daily.
3. I'm afraid of heights. Cannot look down the balcony of 3rd floor and above. My legs will turn jelly.
4. I was a shopaholic. I don't find it enjoyable anymore but I do go out once in a while lar. Can motherhood be the reason behind it?
5. I clean the house to de-stress, sometimes. I guess my hubby knows it and take it for granted. When I complain he never help with the house chores, he will say 'You like to clean the house mar'.
6. I cannot sing but I do sing to Ethan when I tuck him to bed. Luckily, he cannot differentiate what is good and what is bad.
7. I love to move around the furniture at home. It gives me that kind of refreshing feeling.
8. Last but not least, I hate ironing. I only iron clothes when I need to wear them but usually I don't wear clothes that need ironing. Hubby irons his own clothes..hehehe.
   

Why Ethan James?

Pretty mama, Yvonne, tag me on this one. I think it's a good tag. All parents give names to their children for some good reasons. Sometimes, a good name may sound funny when it's pronounced wrongly, especially English name pronounced by Chinese. R becomes L (like Rainbow becomes Lainbow), D becomes T and so on. This is the first thing I looked into when we were looking for the right name for our baby boy. I told hubby about it. I've done a lot of research on the internet on baby names, printed them out and let hubby looked at them. Actually, I used to like the name Benjamin and I insisted on James (after Ethan's grandpa) as the second name. Then, hubby wanted Ethan. I counter proposed Ian. After much negotiation, hubby still insisted on Ethan. He seldom make decision. So, when he made one, I just followed lor. The meaning of the name Ethan is Firm & Strong. I hope he will be a man, who is firm with his decision and strong in his health. The origin is Hebrew. The meaning of the name James is Supplanter (don't ask me what it is). The origin is also Hebrew.

Tag - 6 Weird Things About Me

The title says it all. This tag came from Nadia, one of my favourite blogger mummies (or mummies blogger?). Sorry for the delay. I was on EL yesterday as Ethan was down with fever. Furthermore, this tag got me think very hard. Not that I don't have any weird things to tell but these weird things have become so routine to me and it took some thinking for me to realise that it's weird. So, here they are:

1. I like to peel the skin around my finger nails and sometimes until it bleeds. I notice that my father and my sister do it as well. I guess it's in the gene...hehe.
2. I must cover my feet with blanket when I sleep, even when it's hot. I can wear shorts but I must cover my feet.
3. I love day dreaming, especially when I'm caught in long and boring meetings or conversations.
4. I love to mix ketchup into my instant noodles.
5. I'm scared of worms, all types. The sight of it can make me go mental.
6. I like to grit my teeth, especially when I'm nervous or trying to control my temper.
   

Tag-Why I Blog?

I got a returned favour from Elaine. Sorry lar Elaine, I promised to do it last Friday but didn't have the time until now. The 5 reasons for Why I Blog are:

1. Ethan. I think all the mummies here have this same reason. I want to record down his journey of growing up. I never have the habit of writing diary but I think it's worth doing it now for my little precious. I hope he will read this blog when he grows up and appreciate the efforts we have put in to raise him.
2. Ethan. I want to learn from others on child upbringing and to raise Ethan in the best possible way I could.
   
3. Me, myslef. I think childbirth and memory loss are very closely related. Who agrees with me? I'm afraid I can't remember most of the things I've done now when I'm in the forties and beyond. I want to remember the hardship and joy of being a mother and wife and to share the ups and downs of motherhood with other mummies. Most important of all, where do we get so much support and well wishes if not from the blogging mummies.
4. Me, myself again. To make new friends lor especially the mummies. 90% of my friends are still single and the common interests between us are so different. I like to talk about my son while they like to talk about their 'boys'.
   
5. Money? I've been thinking hard about it. Lets see what happen when I'm qualified :-)

First Tag

Wah, Judy, I'm still very new here ler....You want to know things that I like ar? OK lar, here it goes...

1. I like Indian food. There is one little Indian stall under the tree near my office that serves very nice curry.

2. I like to swim. That's about the only exercise I do but I have only done it once since I was pregnant with Ethan until now. Now you know how frequent I exercise :-)

3. I like sewing and needle work. Sounds strange ler. Maybe it's the influence from my mother lor coz she's a seamstress. I remember I used to sew little clothes for my barbie doll by hand. I was in primary school then. When I know how to use the sewing machine I've sewn my first piece of floor mat when I was in Standard 6. I've also sewn bed sheets, curtains, etc. I wish I have the time now to do all these things.

4. I like 9 to 5 job. I know it sounds crazy to some people also. Actually, my dream job is to be a lady of leisure lar. Who doesn't right? hehehehehe

5. Last but not least, I like to shop. I guess this statement makes me a normal person again, after the weird things I've told you. But now I mostly shop for Ethan. That makes me super normal lar...hahahaha
