Just before I left for Japan (about 3 weeks ago), we went to stock up Ethan's milk. He is taking Enfagrow A+. I would normally buy the milk from Chinese Medical Halls, which is much cheaper compared to the hypermarkets or supermarkets. At that time, I saw the new formula was already on the rack and my eye balls almost pop-out when I saw the price. It's an increase of RM5 per pack. The old pack was selling at RM54.50 (for 1.4 kg) and the new pack at RM60.50 (for 1.3kg) at that particular shop. That was before the petrol price went up.
Actually, if we calculate it properly, the increase is around RM10.00 per pack of 1.4 kg. It's sooooooo crazy to see the price being increased that much. Of course, it's justified by the claim of added nutrition e.g. 4x DHA, Inulin, FOS....bla bla bla. Still......It's not like we can choose between the two formulas. So, it's either Enfa or other milk now.
I'm wondering, does a kid need that much of DHA?? Too much DHA will not cause side effects?? Can they absorb them all?? or is this only a tactic to increase their price and to claim as the no. 1 milk powder in the market??

oh...Isetan is having this offer of Enfagrow at RM66.90 per can (the big can). You can checked it out.
I stocked up his Enfagrow too during the last sales in Isetan (66.90).
Not cheap to raise a child nowadays....
i think we share share buy a cow and milk them, can save more money now. Everything also so exp!

and yeah, there's still RM60++ old stock going on sale in isetan... go grab now... hehehe... but 2 carton or something, stock up enuf until they turn 3, then change milk... hahaha

Irfan's on Enfagrow A+ too. Then I started mixing him with Mamil Gold and he was okay with the milk too. When I saw that the new Enfa was about RM 84.99 at Tesco for the 1.7kg as opposed to the RM 72.xx for the 1.8kg, I almost fainted. So I bought Dumex Dugro for him to try. And he was okay too. And then Shannon msg-ed me to say that Isetan KLCC is selling the milk for RM 69.90 (for the old packaging) and we went and grabbed 9 tins! Hahahah.. kiasu punya pasal! We have in total 11 tins at home and I hope that that will last til Irfan turns 3. LOL!
Enfa milk is getting really exp. 1.4kg Enfagrow can oni last 2 wks for my boy. His PaPa gotta work harder liao. hehehe
scrap the formula and give fresh milk instead. try looking it up. kids outside of malaysia (e.g. US, France etc) stop drinking formula (unless they are breastfed) at around age 1. get DHA etc from natural food instead e.g. salmon, legumes etc. better absorption than 'chemically-mixed' ones. there has been research done on synthetic nutrients to be 'bad' instead. the specific report i read was on beta kerotene (naturally found in carrots).
