New 'Toy'

19 months, 3 weeks & 3 days old.....

It actually happened 2 weeks ago. Too lazy to blog about it. It's always hard to keep Ethan quiet for more than 30 minutes with a toy. That day, hubby suddenly got a brilliant idea. He took out a small container, which was full of coins. We usually put all the coins in containers coz we don't have a coin box but Ethan got one from Maybank Yippie Account. The coin box was left there doing nothing but collecting dust for almost a year now. He then taught Ethan to insert the coins to the coin box one by one. That kept him occupied for almost half an hour. It was a little hard for him to insert the smaller coins but 50 sen coins are ok.

Now that the coin box is already full, we need to either take all the coins out before we let him 'play' again or buy a new coin box for him.

Full of concentration

Full of excitement!

eh you know what? i was JUST considering getting nunu a coinbox this morning while talking to the nanny. apparently these days, the lil girl has been bugging the nanny's 8 yo son to give her his pocket money balance when he gets back from school. and she insists on putting the coins in HIS piggy bank. hmmm, and i thought, good idea hor, get her own piggy bank, but i dun think it can keep her occupied for 1/2 hour like ethan ah. at 2, she's still putting things in her mouth!

erica,
remember to give big big ang pow ar..hahahaha!

slavemom,
he did but hubby was there to 'supervise' him while i concentrated on the tv (rare moments)..hehehe

sasha,
want!

etc-mommy,
let me know the outcome ok

raggedyanne,
so 'ngam' ar...

ethan also put the coins into his mouth occasionally but hubby was there to stop him. i guess after he found out that the taste was horrible, he decided that it's better to put them into the coin box and not his mouth. haha!

should get one with a big hole on top so that it's easier for them to put the coins in. the design of the one from maybank was not so good

coins are very easy to collect, the only thing is to keep a very close eye on the girls coz of the chances of them swallowing the coins

good idea wor...since darren is running out of games to play..but really got to be very careful if they even put the coins in their mouth. We have the same Maybank coin box too.

Btw, the 2nd pic is so so so cute ....

Nowadays, they get boring so fast in playing a same thing. I find that anything in the house can simply be their toys now.

Thats a good activity for him, can train on eye and hand coordinates. I still not allow my boy to take any coins, just too afraid the small coins they may accidentally swallow it, coz I heard such incident before.

Love that last picture of him! So cute.. :) Irfan has one too - and loves hearing to the music whenever the coins go in. Hahaha!

baby darren,

hehe..i like that one too

yes, got to be 100% alert when they are handling the coins

lemonjude,
i heard of the same cases too. the little one swallowed a 10 sen coin and the poor fella got to go for x-ray. in the end, the coin came out through the digestive system.

nadia,
me too! eh, nowadays coin boxes so canggih one ar..

Just wondering, at Ethan's age do they put coins into their mouths still or they're already over it?

My son's 14 months and still puts everything in his mouth. Including coins!
