Men and Football

Until now, I don't know what is it with football that men get so excited with. When me and hubby were dating, I used to accompany him to watch football. My eyes will be glued to the t.v. but my mind wandered far far away. I just cannot concentrate on the game. Worst still, I don't know where the ball is most of the time. When he got excited or screamed for goal, my mind will get back to the game hoping to see someone score a goal. After that, I will continue with my day dreaming while hubby still focusing on the game. That's how I watch football, until now (if I ever have the time to sit down in front of the t.v. at night). Anyway, I'm glad that he's only interested in watching football and not football betting. Unlike western countries, I think football betting is illegal here. Not sure about online betting though.

Oh My Camera.......

...is K.O. It really gets me worried. Ethan's birthday party is on next Sunday and now my humble little camera needs to be repaired. What is a birthday party without a camera? You tell me lar. I don't know if they can repair it in time. My sister borrowed my camera when she went to France in March and came back with a 'cacat' camera. She said the lens cover just refused to close. But then, I can still take photos with it. I thought I want to send it for repair after the birthday party. Finally, yesterday when I want to snap photos of Ethan biting an apple like a rabbit, the lens cover refused to open. Aiyerrrr...geramnya.

After I told hubby that the camera kaput already, he said the night before after he changed the batteries, the lens just closed so he thought it's back to normal. He asked me to try to 'ketuk' it a bit, maybe it will open up. Then, I became suspicious. Did he 'ketuk' the camera until the lens cover closed up? I said 'You must have 'ketuk' the camera so hard and now it's totally K.O.". Wah, he got so upset and raised his voice saying he did not do it. All he did was changed the batteries. Sounds like a kid being reprimanded by his parents isn't it? Ok lar, maybe I should have trusted him. Then he said 'Who breaks the camera in the first place?'. I said 'My sister' and he kept quiet.

After cooling down, I dig the warranty card and it's well over the warranty period. So, I asked hubby to send it back to the place and see what they say. He called me up in the office and said they need 5 working days to check and repair, if they have the parts. If not..........if not, I need a back up plan lar. Sigh.....

OK, here's some news from my friend who works in hotels for 20 years. Every single hotel, there shall be at least a permanent room which should be left vacant at all times. No matter how full the hotel is, they are not to sell that room(s) to any guest. It is said that the special room was "reserved" for those "special visitors". So, if you plan to stay in some hotel, always book in advance. Try to avoid walk in. If the receptionist told you there's no more room available, do not insist one anymore or try to bribe them to give you a room. If you do that, most of the time the room you have will be that "special room". Sometimes those "special visitors" might go to other rooms also, so here's some tips on how to protect yourself:

• Before entering your room, always knock on the door first, even you know the room is vacant.
• After you enter the room, if you feel very cold suddenly and have "chicken spores", leave the room quietly immediately and go to reception to request to change room. Most of the time the receptionist will understand what's happening.
• After you enter the room, immediately switch on all of the lights, and open the curtain to let the sun light in.
• Before you go to bed, arrange your shoes so that one of them is upside down. Some say this is representing yin& yang to protect you while you're asleep.
• Always leave at least a lamp on while you're sleeping, preferably the toilet's lamp.
• If you're staying alone and they have given you a twin bed, do not sleep with the other bed vacant, try to put your things like luggage on the other bed before you sleep.

Super Good Deal

Went to the Poney warehouse sales yesterday (1 February 2007) and reached the place at 10.05 a.m. Ethan stay at home with daddy. Saw some daddies outside with their babies while mummies were inside the tent. I thought it will be somewhere indoor, didn't know they will set up a tent on an open-air car park. By the time I went in, the place was alreday 70% full. At first, I grab a few pieces priced at RM 9-12 per piece. I thought 'Wah good deal' but later I ditched those, becasue I saw this 'SUPER BARGAIN CORNER'. Wah wah wah, quickly rushed there and what I got are these....don't blink...







Want to know ho much I paid for them? RM80.00. Each piece is only RM5. Good hor? By the time I left that place at around 11.30 a.m., people were queueing up to get in because inside was jam packed. Outside the tent, more daddies with more babies and toddlers. Luckily hubby decided not to follow.

Free Trip to Langkawi

The xxxx hotel is organising some familiarisation programme for their corporate clients. The invitation was actually sent to my boss but he can't make it. So, the offer is opened. It's totally free. Transport (KL-Langkawi-KL), accommodation (3d/2n), meals and local tours (including island hopping). Good ler.

So, I quickly said 'I want I want' (kiasu mar). Then quickly called my hubby and he said 'CANNOT LAR' (problems in applying leave) @#$%%^&*#$%$^%%#$#....potong stim betul...I just bought a new swim suit during lunch time (before I got to know about the free trip) and thought 'wah, good timing'...CHER...no chance....ARGHHHHHHH!!!!! PARIS: Women take greater care over their appearance when they are at peak levels of fertility, according to a study reported in New Scientist.

University of California at Los Angeles researchers worked with a group of 30 women aged 18 to 37.

They took two full-body photographs of each volunteer —one when the woman was close to ovulation and highly fertile, and the other at a point of low fertility in the menstrual cycle.

Observers were then asked to decide which of the two photos showed the woman trying to look more attractive.

They chose the woman in her “highfertility photograph nearly 60 per cent of the time more often than would be expected by chance.

“Though not in the same class as the obvious physical cues other primate females give when they are ovulating, it is the first evidence that women openly advertise their fertility,t he British weekly says.

The scientists were intrigued that all the volunteers said they were in a committed relationship.

If so, why would they go to the trouble of dressing up?
